Your wedding day is magically the best day of your life. It starts a journey that is one that will be forever. Your wedding day is full of laughter, pampering, happy tears, dancing, kissing and did I mention more dancing. It starts that next chapter on a really good start. You will forever have those memories as you walked down the aisle while gazing into your future husbands eyes and him most likely shedding a few tears. Us ladies are always banking on those few seconds to see them mesmerizing at us. I mean you did just spend half of your day getting ready with the best hair and make up and the priciest dress you’ll ever wear. It really makes for the perfect shot. Not to mention it’s your day, you got to live it to the fullest.
You’ve put all your time and energy into making sure every detail is perfect and everyone who is there to celebrate the two of you is happy. You most likely have spent the last twelve to six months planning a major to do list on the daily. Seemingly feeling like the to do list never ended because your list would keep adding more things to do. The details are important, so if any brides are reading this do not leave out the details. A Photographer like myself gets dreamy eyed at any extra details.
Its been a few days or maybe just a few hours since you got engaged and your brain is going into a spaghetti brain with all of the ideas flowing. You grab a wedding planning album at your nearest book store to start jotting down all your ideas that you have had on your Pinterest board for the past few years. Any women out there today has there entire wedding planned even before you started dating just with a flew clicks on your Pinterest app. The top three to do list items to start your wedding day planning are as follows.
This is a tough choice, its where you will be spending your wedding day. If your like myself I searched many local venues but didn’t feel that certain touch. I started researching destination weddings and immediately knew thats what I wanted. What is a destination wedding? A destination wedding is typically at a location outside of your local state. Like myself it was Maui, Hawaii. I am a photographer so in the back of my head I am thinking photo opportunities and what thats going to look like. Understandingly you may not be a photographer so you don’t necessarily think of those things first. Weddings can be really expensive but if you do it right it can plan out to be a wedding and vacation for many. A lot of my venue planning was over the internet and via Skype. I basically planned my entire wedding with out seeing it in person until the day of. We chose Makenna Beach in Maui. A sweet little private cove that was very intimate. We had about 40 guest fly from the states to be with us. Thats a seemingly small wedding guest list for a normal wedding but a great size for destination. Take into consideration that these guest may be flying for a wedding but they also will be vacationing at the same time. Thats a win win for me. Remember, this is your day and you can create it to be the day you dreamed of. No two weddings are the same. If you want a reception afterwards with dancing and garter toss or if you just want an intimate dinner; both are great! The options are yours!
